Brian Holleran is a traditional Irish flute player who grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey. Mike Rafferty of Ballinakill, East County Galway taught Brian the bulk of his music. He has also found inspiration in recordings of Joe Cooley, Bobby Casey, and Matt Molloy. He is featured on the recording, Live at Mona's and will be teaching tin whistle at the Swannanoa Celtic Week in the summer of 2020. ... more

Fiddle player Caitlin Finley played for us back in the day at the Coatesville Traditional Irish Music Series. It took a while to find out she’d made a CD with flute & piano (also piccolo, pipes & melodeon) accompaniment but it was worth the wait! Check it out. Will Woodson & Chris Stevens are standouts, too. It’s nice to find a contemporary Irish CD I like start to finish.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too.
