about

In my senior year of high school, I took pipe lessons with Willie Kelly who is known more as a fiddle player than a piper. He would give me names of classic albums I should have including Finbar Furey's album "with the baby on the cover." I learned "Peter Byrnes's Fancy" from that album. Willie exposed me to loads of great music for which I am very grateful. Another man who introduced me to a lot of music is the fiddle player Patrick Ourceau. In college, I would attend the session at Mona's in NYC with Patrick and Eamon O'Leary as much as possible. He was and is beyond generous with his music. I heard "Paddy Fahey's" from a recording he had of the legendary fiddler player and composer. Some of my fondest memories in life are from those sessions at Mona's.
